headlights pass us by
like shooting stars
the bass beating into my back
the way a blackberry bursts on thirsty tongues
a momentary melody of magic
tumbling down my throat
i stood by you stoic
but i disintegrated like a sand dune
i fell out of your fingers
even though you grasped at the evening
i know i would break you if i left
but how can i stay
when you don’t even know who you are?
when i don’t know who i am?
but then i remember
your eyes - their ember,
the shooting stars
of the passing cars...
and i think it might all turn out ok
Message to my readers: thank you so much for reading, I’ve been really busy lately with school so I have been editing and reworking some of my older pieces. I appreciate all of your support in my little hobby, hope you enjoy! ☀️
